InnovÉÉ works closely with Quebec Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Exports (MEIE) as well as other funding agencies including the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) to support the development and financing of research and development projects focusing on electricity and electric vehicle technologies.
In particular, we offer access to MEIE grants for collaborative R&D projects (involving at least one academic partner and one or more industrial partners).
These grants can cover up to 40% of eligible project costs. Projects can also be co-funded by other public (Federal, Provincial or Municipal) agencies such as NSERC, Mitacs, etc. However, all projects must include industrial funding; industrial partners must cover at least 20% of project costs.
To apply for collaborative research grants, you need to participate in one of our Calls for Projects.
All applications will be evaluated by an independent committee. Evaluation criteria include relevance of project for advancing electricity and/or electric vehicle technology; expertise of the research team; and expected economic, social and technological impacts.
Other important criteria:
- Technologies and applications are aligned with one or several of our Key Research Topics.
- One or several industrial partners provide funding (in cash) to the project. For projects starting in TRL 1-3, at least two industrial partners (including one based in Quebec) must be present. For projects starting in TRL 4-6, only one industrial partner is required.
- Maximum value of the InnovÉÉ grant: $1.5 million per project.
- All project partners (industrial and academic must be members of InnovÉÉ.
